Outpost Opening Checklist

Opening should take 15 minutes at most, refer to this article to ensure you haven't missed anything.

  • Wash hands in sink using antibacterial soap (mounted on the wall by the sink).
  • Turn on boiler, grinder, and check that coffee machine is on.
  • Switch ice cream machine to dispense and fill up if low or if it was cleaned the night before.
  • Remove steam wands and tips from cleaning solution, wipe down, rinse and re-assemble.
  • Fill an ice bucket from ice machine.
  • Get the float for the day.
  • Put out foosies on the display unit, re-wrap any that wont be used until later.
  • Put up the two umbrellas outside and outdoor ice cream cone.
  • Turn on outside lights and take down the board from the hatch when ready to open (must be open by 9am).
  • Open both sides of the main door and set up the counter (unless weather is very bad).
  • Check that all milk in LHS fridge is in date and OK to serve.
  • If milk was delivered, make sure it is all OK and put it straight into the fridge, rotate older milk to LHS fridge to be used first.
